About the Event

Join us Friday, February 21st from 2:00-3:00 PST via Zoom for a REACH Seminar with Alan Simmons, PhD, professor at UCSD and research scientist at the San Diego VA. Dr. Simmons' work focuses on anxiety, PTSD, depression, pain, and other psychiatric conditions through neuroscience and brain imaging.

The talk will present a model for how anticipation of interoceptive state provides a similar model for pain and PTSD that facilitates the interaction of these two often comorbid conditions. The evidence for this model will be explored including brain imaging data as well as the implications of this work towards concepts of precision medicine.
