Watch Dr. Laura Stone’s seminar “Epigenetics and chronic pain: What is it and why should I care?"

You can now hear Dr. Laura Stone’s (UMN) seminar “Epigenetics and chronic pain: What is it and why should I care?” The virtual event included over 100attendees and featured lively discussion throughout. Dr. Stone discussed the pain lifecycle, epigenetic control of gene expression, therapeutic interventions, and how life experiences and chronic pain may impact the brain and immune system. She also described the Quebec Low Back Pain Study and potential epigenetic biomarkers found of human chronic pain. Dr. Stone is a professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Minnesota Medical School with expertise in mechanisms of pain, epigenetic regulation of chronic pain, and pharmacological and non-pharmacological methods of treatment.
